The VALUE COLLECTION 38600 is a seamless stainless steel pipe nipple sized for 1-1/2 inch pipe, built to Schedule 40 wall thickness from Grade 304 stainless steel. Pipe nipples are short-length threaded connectors used to join sections of pipe or connect pipe to fittings, valves, and equipment. The seamless construction eliminates a weld seam, which improves pressure integrity and corrosion resistance. Grade 304 stainless steel provides solid resistance to rust, oxidation, and a wide range of process fluids. This part weighs 2.718 pounds, indicating a close nipple or standard-length configuration with substantial wall mass typical of Schedule 40 duty. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this type of fitting.
This pipe nipple is suited for residential and commercial plumbing, HVAC hydronic systems, industrial process lines, and fluid transfer applications where corrosion resistance is required. Schedule 40 wall thickness makes it appropriate for moderate-pressure water, steam, chemical, and gas service lines. It is commonly installed in mechanical rooms, boiler rooms, and process piping runs where stainless fittings are specified to meet corrosion or sanitary requirements.
Designed as a standard NPT-threaded replacement or new-installation fitting for 1-1/2 inch Schedule 40 stainless steel pipe systems in plumbing, HVAC hydronic, and industrial process piping applications.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter following applicable IPC or ASME B31 piping code requirements. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to male NPT threads before assembly and tighten to a snug, leak-free engagement without over-torquing. Shut off system pressure and drain the line fully before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Inspect threads for damage before installation and do not install a fitting with crossed or deformed threads.
