The VALUE COLLECTION 38559 is a zinc-plated steel toggle bolt anchor designed for fastening into hollow wall and ceiling assemblies. Measuring 3/16 inches in diameter with a 4-inch overall length (OAL), this anchor delivers a maximum load capacity of 430 pounds, making it a reliable choice for medium-to-heavy fixture installations. The toggle bolt design expands behind the wall surface upon installation, distributing load across the back face of the substrate. Electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and general contractors use this type of anchor when securing equipment hangers, conduit supports, pipe straps, or mounting brackets to hollow wall surfaces. Each package contains 50 anchors.
This anchor is rated for use in multiple substrate types including concrete and masonry, hollow tile, plaster, and wallboard. It is well-suited for commercial and residential applications where fasteners must penetrate hollow-core walls or ceilings without access to a stud or structural framing member. Common install scenarios include securing junction box supports, mounting brackets for piping or ductwork, and attaching fixtures to gypsum board or plaster walls where a standard wood screw would not hold.
Designed for use in concrete and masonry, hollow tile, plaster, and wallboard substrates where hollow-wall toggle bolt anchors are appropriate. Verify wall thickness and substrate type before installation to confirm suitability.
Toggle bolt anchors of this type are installed by licensed tradespeople and experienced contractors following applicable local building codes. Drill a clearance hole sized appropriately for the 3/16-inch diameter toggle assembly, fold the toggle wings, and insert through the hole before tightening the screw to expand the wings against the back face of the substrate. Do not overtighten, as this can crush wallboard or crack plaster. Always confirm that the load applied does not exceed the rated 430 lb capacity and that the substrate is in sound condition before relying on the anchor for structural support.
