The VALUE COLLECTION 383-2002 is a single-point tool bit designed for precision metal-cutting operations on lathes and turning centers. Built to the C-4 industry standard, it features a square nose profile with a neutral cutting direction and a solid carbide C2-grade tip brazed to the shank. The shank measures 1/4 inch in both height and width, with an overall length of 2 inches. The C2 carbide grade is well-suited for continuous cuts on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and similar workpiece materials. Weighing approximately 0.06 pounds, this compact bit is a practical solution for toolroom and production environments where consistency and repeatability are required.
This tool bit is intended for use in manual and CNC lathes, boring bars, and toolholders that accept a 1/4-inch square shank. Typical applications include chamfering, facing, forming, and turning operations in job shop, maintenance, and light production settings. The neutral cutting direction makes it suitable for both left-hand and right-hand feed paths depending on setup. Machinists and toolroom technicians working on ferrous and non-ferrous stock will find this an economical single-piece replacement or spare for standard tooling setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or spare for manual and CNC lathe toolholders accepting a 1/4-inch square shank single-point tool bit to the C-4 industry standard.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the machine spindle and confirm all axis motion is locked before changing or adjusting tool bits. Ensure the toolholder set screws are tightened to the toolholder manufacturer's specification and that the tool bit seats fully and squarely in the pocket before resuming cuts. Inspect the carbide tip for cracks or chipping before each use, as a damaged tip can cause unpredictable tool behavior and workpiece damage.
