The VALUE COLLECTION 375-1512 is a right-hand boring bar designed for precision internal turning and bore enlargement operations on a lathe. The cutting tip is C2 carbide-tipped, making it suitable for machining cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and general-purpose materials at moderate cutting speeds. The shank measures 5/8 inches in diameter, and the overall length is 4-5/16 inches. It accepts a minimum bore diameter of 11/16 inches with a maximum bore depth of 2-13/16 inches, giving machinists a practical range for through-holes and blind bores in production and job-shop settings.
This boring bar fits standard lathe tool holders accepting a 5/8-inch shank. It is suited for light to medium-duty boring work in both manual and CNC lathe applications. Typical use cases include finish boring, diameter correction, and concentricity work on workpieces in residential shop, toolroom, or production floor environments. The right-hand cutting direction means material is removed as the tool feeds toward the headstock, which is the standard orientation for most lathe boring setups.
Designed as a standard replacement or addition for lathe setups accepting a 5/8-inch shank boring bar with right-hand cutting orientation.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the shank firmly in the tool holder or boring bar holder, ensuring the cutting tip is on center with the workpiece axis. Power down and lock out the lathe before changing or setting tooling. Do not exceed the maximum bore depth of 2-13/16 inches, as excessive overhang increases chatter and tool deflection risk.
