The VALUE COLLECTION 375-1502 is a right-hand carbide-tipped boring bar designed for internal turning and bore finishing operations on lathes and boring machines. Built with a C2 carbide-tipped insert, it handles general-purpose machining on cast iron, steel, and non-ferrous materials at moderate cutting speeds. The 5/8-inch shank diameter provides solid tool-post registration, while the 3-3/8-inch overall length suits standard tooling setups. With a minimum bore diameter of 11/16 inches and a maximum bore depth of 1-7/8 inches, this bar covers a practical range of small-bore finishing and roughing passes in a shop or production environment.
This boring bar is suited for machinists working on manual lathes or CNC turning centers where precise internal bore sizing is required. It is appropriate for light to medium-duty applications including bore finishing, ID turning, and through-hole cleanup in ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. The right-hand cutting direction means it is set up for conventional left-to-right feed on the majority of standard lathe configurations. Toolmakers, job-shop machinists, and maintenance machinists will find this bar serviceable for general repair and production work where tight bore tolerances are needed.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling addition for lathes and boring machines accepting a 5/8-inch shank boring bar with right-hand cutting direction.
This boring bar is installed and operated by qualified machinists familiar with lathe tooling setup. Before mounting, ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the lathe is locked out per standard shop safety procedures. Set tool height on center and confirm the shank is clamped securely in the tool post or boring head with adequate overhang minimized to reduce chatter. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine manufacturer guidelines when selecting feeds, speeds, and depth of cut.
