The VALUE COLLECTION 375-1252 is a right-hand carbide-tipped boring bar designed for internal boring operations on lathes and boring mills. The cutting tip is C2-grade carbide, suited for general-purpose machining of cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and plastics at moderate cutting speeds. With a minimum bore diameter of 7/16 inches and a maximum bore depth of 1-11/16 inches, this bar handles light-to-medium duty single-point boring on small workpieces. The 1/2-inch shank diameter provides solid tool post or holder clamping, and the 3-3/16-inch overall length keeps overhang manageable for improved rigidity and surface finish. Machinists and tool-and-die techs are the primary users.
This boring bar is used in manual lathe and CNC turning center setups where small-diameter internal bores are required. Typical applications include opening existing pilot holes to a precise diameter, finishing cast or drilled bores, and light interrupted cuts in production or job-shop environments. The right-hand cutting direction means the bar cuts toward the chuck in standard lathe orientation. It is well suited for short-run production and maintenance machining where a compact, rigid boring tool is needed for bores in the 7/16-inch to roughly 11/16-inch diameter range.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or addition boring bar for lathes and boring mills accepting a 1/2-inch shank tool holder.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists following standard shop safety procedures. Power down and lock out the machine before mounting the boring bar in the tool post or holder. Ensure the cutting tip is set on center with the workpiece axis before securing the shank, as off-center height directly affects bore geometry and tool life. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety codes when setting speeds and feeds for carbide-tipped tooling.
