The VALUE COLLECTION 366-0241 is a hex rethreading die designed to restore damaged or corroded external threads to their original specification. It cuts a 3/8-16 thread profile following the Unified National Coarse (UNC) standard and is configured for left-hand thread direction. The die is machined from carbon steel, providing the hardness needed to chase and clean threads on fasteners, bolts, and threaded rod. Licensed mechanics, millwrights, and maintenance technicians reach for rethreading dies when a fastener shows cross-threading, rust damage, or impact damage that prevents proper nut engagement. The hex outer profile accepts a standard die stock or wrench for controlled torque application.
This rethreading die suits repair and maintenance work across industrial, mechanical, and trade settings where left-hand threaded fasteners are present. Apply a cutting or threading oil to the die and fastener prior to use to reduce friction and extend die life. Run the die slowly and back off periodically to clear chips. Do not force the die through heavily deformed threads in a single pass.
