The VALUE COLLECTION 365-1324 is a hex rethreading die designed to restore damaged or corroded external threads on bolts, rods, and fasteners. It cuts a 1-1/2-8 UNS thread profile in the right-hand direction and measures 1 inch thick. Made from carbon steel, this die provides the hardness needed to chase and restore threads on common fastener materials without deforming the cutting edges under normal use. It is a standard hand-tool die intended for use by mechanics, pipefitters, plumbers, and maintenance technicians working in industrial, commercial, or field service settings.
This rethreading die is suited for restoring 1-1/2-inch diameter fasteners with 8 threads per inch following the UNS thread standard. It fits into standard hex die stocks that accept this die size. Typical applications include restoring threads on threaded rod, anchor bolts, pipe fittings, and structural fasteners that have been damaged through corrosion, impact, or cross-threading. It is a practical shop and field tool for any trade that regularly works with large-diameter fasteners.
Designed for use with hex die stocks sized to accept this die. Fits applications requiring a 1-1/2-8 UNS right-hand thread die.
This die is installed into a compatible hex die stock before use. Secure the workpiece in a vise or stable fixture before chasing threads. Apply cutting oil to the die and fastener to reduce heat and extend die life. Always start the die squarely on the existing thread to avoid cross-threading or die damage.
