The VALUE COLLECTION 365-1067 is a hex rethreading die designed to restore damaged or corroded external threads to their original specification. It cuts a 7/8-18 thread profile following the UNS thread standard with a right-hand thread direction. Made from carbon steel, this die delivers the hardness needed to clean and recut threads on fasteners, fittings, bolts, and threaded rod commonly found in plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical assemblies. The hex body allows direct engagement with a standard wrench or ratchet for controlled torque application during rethreading work.
This rethreading die is suited for field and shop use where restoring damaged male threads is required without full thread replacement. Typical applications include cleaning rust-damaged threads on pipe fittings, hydraulic line adapters, and mechanical fasteners encountered during service and repair of HVAC, plumbing, and industrial equipment. The 7/8-18 size covers fine-thread fasteners and fittings common in medium-duty mechanical systems.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement die for use on external 7/8-18 UNS right-hand threaded fasteners and fittings requiring thread restoration.
This die is installed by a mechanic, pipefitter, or service technician using a wrench or appropriately sized ratchet. Ensure the damaged thread surface is clean and free of debris before engaging the die. Apply cutting oil or thread lubricant to reduce friction and extend die life during the rethreading pass. Avoid excessive force that could cause the die to cross-thread or fracture on heavily corroded material.
