The VALUE COLLECTION 365-1032 is a hex rethreading die designed to restore damaged or corroded external threads to their original specification. Built from carbon steel, this die is sized for 7/16-24 threads and follows a right-hand thread direction to the UNS thread standard. Rethreading dies are used by mechanics, plumbers, and trade technicians to salvage fasteners, fittings, bolts, and threaded rod without full replacement. The compact hex body allows it to be driven with a standard open-end wrench or socket, making it practical for field and shop use alike.
This die is suited for light to medium rethreading tasks on 7/16-inch diameter fasteners with 24 threads per inch, a fine-pitch specification common in automotive, hydraulic, and mechanical assembly applications. It is appropriate for use on steel, iron, and similar ferrous fastener materials where thread restoration is needed rather than full thread cutting on new stock.
Designed as an OEM-style rethreading die for external 7/16-24 right-hand threads on bolts, fittings, and threaded rod in mechanical and trade applications.
Rethreading dies are typically used by mechanics and trade technicians performing maintenance or repair work. Before use, clean the damaged thread area and apply a cutting or tapping fluid to reduce friction and extend die life. Drive the die slowly in the correct thread direction, backing off periodically to clear debris. Do not use on thread sizes or pitches other than those marked on the die body.
