The VALUE COLLECTION 364-0240 is a hex rethreading die engineered to restore damaged or corroded external threads on metric fine-pitch fasteners and fittings. Sized for M24x1 thread profiles, this die cuts in the right-hand direction and is built from carbon steel for reliable durability in shop and field use. At 1 inch thick, the die provides adequate body depth to fully re-establish thread form across the engagement length. Rethreading dies are a standard tool in any well-equipped mechanical or plumbing shop where bolt, stud, and fitting thread rescue is a routine task.
This die is suited for maintenance, repair, and overhaul work wherever M24x1 metric fine external threads are encountered. Typical applications include restoring threads on hydraulic fittings, pipe connections, fastener shanks, and machine components found in industrial, HVAC, plumbing, and general mechanical settings. The hex outer profile accepts a standard die stock or wrench for controlled torque application during rethreading operations.
Designed for use with M24x1 metric fine external threads per standard metric fine thread specifications. Fits die stocks sized to accept this hex die body.
Rethreading dies are typically used by machinists, millwrights, plumbers, and HVAC technicians performing repair work on threaded components. De-energize or depressurize any system before rethreading fittings or fasteners in service. Apply cutting oil liberally during the rethreading operation to reduce heat and extend die life. Back the die off periodically to clear chips and prevent thread damage.
