The VALUE COLLECTION 331-2008 is a shell reamer arbor designed to hold and drive shell reamers in metalworking and machining operations. Assigned Arbor Number 7, it accepts shell reamers ranging from 1-5/16 to 1-5/8 inches in diameter. The arbor features a cylindrical straight shank measuring 7/8 inch (0.875 inches) in diameter and an overall length of 11 inches, with a taper length of 3 inches. It is used by machinists, tool and die makers, and maintenance technicians performing precision reaming operations on metal workpieces in production shops and job shops.
This arbor is suited for horizontal and vertical milling machines, lathes, and drill presses where shell reamers are required to finish or size bored holes. The cylindrical shank allows for secure chuck or collet mounting. Applications include sizing holes in metal components during fabrication, toolroom work, and general machine shop maintenance where interchangeable shell reamer sets are in use.
Designed for use with standard shell reamers requiring an Arbor Number 7 interface, covering reamer diameters from 1-5/16 to 1-5/8 inches. Suitable for machines accepting a 7/8-inch cylindrical shank.
A licensed machinist or qualified shop technician should install this arbor. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the arbor. Secure the cylindrical shank firmly in the chuck or collet to the machine manufacturer's specified clamping procedure. Inspect the arbor taper and the shell reamer socket for burrs or debris before assembly to maintain concentricity and prevent premature wear.
