The VALUE COLLECTION 31972 is a hammer drive concrete expanding anchor designed for fast, tool-simple fastening into concrete and masonry substrates. The anchor features a nylon body that expands on impact to grip the base material, with a truss head profile that distributes load across the surface. At 1/4 inch in diameter with an overall length of 1-1/2 inches and a minimum embedment depth of 1 inch, this anchor suits light-duty to moderate anchoring tasks where a pre-drilled 1/4 inch hole is driven first. Sold in packs of 100, the 31972 is well suited for volume installation work across trade and construction applications.
This anchor is used in residential and light commercial settings where concrete, block, or masonry attachment points are required. Typical applications include securing conduit straps, junction box mounting brackets, light fixtures, cable clips, and similar hardware to poured concrete floors, walls, or block structures. The hammer drive installation method eliminates the need for a setting tool, making it a practical choice for electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and general contractors who need to fasten components quickly to concrete surfaces without power-actuated tools.
Designed for use in poured concrete, concrete block, and similar masonry substrates where a 1/4 inch pilot hole can be drilled to the required embedment depth.
Installation is performed by drilling a 1/4 inch diameter hole to at least 1 inch embedment depth using a hammer drill and masonry bit, then inserting the anchor and driving it flush with a standard hammer. Refer to applicable building codes and the authority having jurisdiction for minimum edge distance and spacing requirements when anchoring into structural concrete. Do not install into cracked, spalled, or otherwise compromised concrete, as base material integrity directly affects holding values. Always wear appropriate eye protection when drilling masonry and driving anchors.
