The VALUE COLLECTION 312-8934 is a 4-piece spiral flute screw extractor set designed to remove broken, seized, or damaged screws and fasteners from threaded bores. Spiral flute extractors bite into the fastener as they turn counterclockwise, increasing grip as extraction torque is applied. The set covers extractor sizes 6 through 9 and handles a screw size range of 3/4 inch to 2-1/8 inch maximum capacity. At 0.5 pounds, the kit is compact and suited for tool bags on service calls. Plumbers, pipefitters, electricians, and general mechanical trades keep sets like this on hand for field repairs where a broken fastener would otherwise require drilling out and retapping.
This set is applicable across residential and commercial service work wherever large-diameter fasteners are encountered. Pipe sizes supported include 3/8 inch, 1/2 inch, 3/4 inch, and 1 inch pipe applications. Compatible screw sizes in the set include 13/16 inch, 25/32 inch, 27/32 inch, 7/8 inch, 1 inch, 1-1/8 inch, 1-3/16 inch, 1-1/4 inch, 1-5/16 inch, 1-11/32 inch, 1-3/8 inch, 1-13/32 inch, 1-7/16 inch, and up to 2-1/8 inch. Typical install scenarios include mechanical rooms, equipment pads, and field service where fastener corrosion or over-torque has caused breakage.
Designed for use with broken or seized screws and fasteners ranging from 3/4 inch to 2-1/8 inch in diameter, including pipe applications at 3/8 inch, 1/2 inch, 3/4 inch, and 1 inch nominal pipe sizes.
Spiral flute screw extractors are typically used by plumbers, pipefitters, electricians, and mechanical service technicians. Before extraction, ensure the system is de-energized or depressurized and all relevant lockout/tagout procedures are followed. A pilot hole sized appropriately for the extractor must be drilled into the broken fastener before inserting the extractor. Apply steady counterclockwise torque with a tap wrench or suitable driver — avoid impact driving, which can fracture the extractor.
