The VALUE COLLECTION 30636 is a 3/8-16 hex lock nut featuring a nylon insert locking mechanism. The nylon insert compresses against the mating thread to resist loosening under vibration and torque without damaging the fastener thread. Manufactured from Grade 316 stainless steel with a bright uncoated finish, this nut delivers strong corrosion resistance in wet, marine, and chemical-exposure environments. It measures 29/64 inches in height with a 9/16-inch width across flats. Licensed tradespeople and maintenance mechanics install this fastener wherever a reliable, corrosion-resistant prevailing-torque lock nut is required.
This nut is suited for use in plumbing, HVAC, marine, food-service, and general industrial assemblies where standard carbon steel fasteners would corrode or where vibration-induced loosening is a concern. The UNC (Unified National Coarse) thread form and right-hand thread direction make it compatible with standard 3/8-16 threaded rod, bolts, and studs found in residential and light commercial mechanical systems. It is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 50 pieces.
Designed as a standard 3/8-16 UNC hex lock nut for use with any inch-series bolt, stud, or threaded rod of matching thread size and pitch.
Installation requires a 9/16-inch wrench or socket. Power down or isolate the assembly before service where applicable. Drive the nut by hand until the nylon insert contacts the thread, then tighten to the torque specification required by the parent assembly design. Do not reuse a nylon insert lock nut after removal, as the insert loses prevailing-torque effectiveness once fully seated and backed off.
