The VALUE COLLECTION 30631 is a nylon insert hex lock nut manufactured from Grade 316 stainless steel. It stands 3/16 inches high with a width across flats of 5/16 inches and features a right-hand UNC thread pattern. The nylon insert collar compresses against the fastener threads to resist loosening under vibration, thermal cycling, and mechanical shock. Grade 316 stainless steel provides strong resistance to corrosion and oxidation, making this nut well suited for wet, marine, chemical, and outdoor environments. Plumbers, pipefitters, electricians, and HVAC technicians reach for this hardware when installing equipment in corrosive service conditions where carbon steel fasteners are not appropriate.
This hex lock nut is used in light-duty fastening applications across residential and commercial trades. Typical uses include securing pipe hangers, equipment mounting brackets, panel hardware, and junction box assemblies where vibration resistance and corrosion protection are both required. The inch-system UNC thread standard makes it compatible with the full range of standard fractional fasteners common in North American trade work. Each package contains 50 nuts, providing enough quantity for production installs or service van stock.
Designed as a standard inch-system UNC hex lock nut for use with compatible male-threaded fasteners in residential and commercial trade applications requiring nylon insert locking and stainless steel corrosion resistance.
Installation requires only a standard open-end or box wrench sized to the 5/16-inch width across flats. De-energize and depressurize any system before tightening or removing fastener hardware. The nylon insert is a single-use locking feature — once the nut has been fully threaded and removed, the insert may not provide the same locking force if reused. Follow applicable mechanical and electrical codes, including NEC or IPC references where fastener hardware is used in code-governed assemblies.
