The VALUE COLLECTION 27661 is a single-end square end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in metal, plastics, and composite materials. Made from M2 high speed steel with a bright/uncoated finish, it offers reliable performance in conventional milling setups where coated tooling is not required. The cutter measures 1 inch in diameter with a 1-1/2 inch length of cut and runs a 2-flute, right-hand spiral configuration at a 30-degree helix angle. The 5/8 inch shank fits standard ER and straight-bore toolholders. This end mill is center-cutting, allowing plunge entry in addition to peripheral and slot milling operations.
This end mill is suited for manual mills, knee mills, CNC machining centers, and benchtop milling machines used in job shops, maintenance environments, and general fabrication. The 2-flute geometry provides good chip clearance, making it a practical choice for slotting and pocketing in softer metals and non-ferrous materials. The 3-5/8 inch overall length provides adequate reach for standard depth workpieces without sacrificing rigidity. Machinists and tool-and-die technicians working with steel, aluminum, and similar materials will find this a dependable general-purpose option.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or stock end mill for manual and CNC milling machines accepting a 5/8 inch straight shank, including standard ER collet chucks and end mill holders of matching bore size.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully de-energized and the machine in a locked-out state per applicable machine-guarding and lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure the shank is fully seated and properly torqued in the toolholder before operation. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material and machine spindle rating.
