The VALUE COLLECTION 262-3056 is an expanding lathe mandrel designed to hold workpieces from the inside bore during turning operations. The mandrel grips bores ranging from 3/4 to 7/8 inches, allowing secure workholding without external clamping. It features a 3/4-inch shank diameter for mounting in the lathe headstock or tailstock, a 3-1/4-inch sleeve length, and a 7-inch arbor length. The expanding design allows the mandrel to seat firmly inside the bore of a workpiece as it is tightened, keeping the part concentric during machining. Machinists and tool and die makers use this type of mandrel for finish turning of bored or reamed parts.
