The VALUE COLLECTION 262-2026 is a standard lathe mandrel designed to hold workpieces securely between centers during turning, grinding, and finishing operations. With a 13/32-inch face diameter and an overall length of 4-1/2 inches, this mandrel provides a reliable arbor for machining bored or drilled parts that require concentric external work. It is a staple toolroom component used by machinists and tool-and-die tradespeople on manual and CNC lathes where accurate, repeatable centering of workpieces is required.
This mandrel is suited for light to medium lathe operations in job shops, maintenance facilities, and production environments. It is particularly applicable when a workpiece with a 13/32-inch bore needs to be driven and supported between centers for turning the outside diameter concentric with the bore. The compact 4-1/2-inch overall length makes it appropriate for smaller-bore workpieces common in general machining, toolroom work, and repair applications.
Designed as an OEM-style standard lathe mandrel for use between centers on manual and conventional lathes accepting workpieces with a 13/32-inch bore diameter.
Lathe mandrels are installed and serviced by qualified machinists. Before mounting, ensure the lathe is powered off and the chuck or drive plate is fully stopped. Mandrel and workpiece bore surfaces should be clean and lightly lubricated before pressing the workpiece onto the mandrel taper to prevent galling. Verify that lathe center points are properly aligned before engaging the drive to avoid runout or workpiece damage.
