The VALUE COLLECTION 231001PR is a socket pressure plug designed to seal hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid system ports against leakage and contamination. Threaded to the 1/16-27 NPTF standard, the tapered thread profile creates a pressure-tight mechanical seal without requiring a separate sealing compound, though thread sealant is commonly used in demanding applications. The plug is machined from alloy steel in an uncoated finish and features a 5/32-inch hex key drive for installation with a standard hex key or Allen wrench. The 3/4-inch taper per foot thread geometry conforms to NPTF specifications, ensuring consistent seating across standard-compliant fittings and ports.
This pressure plug is suited for sealing unused or test ports on manifolds, hydraulic cylinders, valve bodies, pumps, compressors, and similar fluid power or pneumatic equipment. It is commonly installed during system assembly, maintenance, or winterization to block off service ports. The small 1/16-27 thread size is typical in instrumentation ports, low-flow hydraulic circuits, and precision pneumatic components found in both light industrial and mechanical service environments. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and fluid power technicians are the primary installers in commercial and industrial settings.
Designed as an OEM-style pressure plug for 1/16-27 NPTF-threaded ports on hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid system components requiring a sealed pipe plug.
Installation should be performed by a qualified pipefitter, plumber, or fluid power technician following applicable IFGC, IPC, or system-specific pressure codes. Depressurize and isolate the system completely before removing or installing any pressure plug. A hex key of the correct 5/32-inch size should be used to avoid rounding the drive socket. Apply thread sealant per the system fluid compatibility requirements and do not overtighten, as NPTF threads seal through thread-form interference and excessive torque can damage the port.
