The VALUE COLLECTION 230-8035 is a 5C collet designed for use in lathes, collet closers, and spin fixtures that accept the 5C collet system. It provides workpiece clamping with a total indicator runout (TIR) of 0.0005 inches, making it appropriate for turning, grinding, and secondary operations where concentricity matters. This type of collet is a standard workholding component installed by machinists and tool room technicians in both job shop and production environments. The 5C format is one of the most widely used collet standards in manual and CNC turning applications.
This collet is suited for shop floor use on manual lathes, CNC turning centers, and bench-mounted collet fixtures that are built around the 5C collet standard. It is appropriate for production runs and one-off setups where repeatable, concentric clamping of round, hex, or square stock is required. Machinists in metalworking, tool and die, and precision parts manufacturing will find this a direct-fit workholding solution.
Designed for use with lathes, collet closers, spin fixtures, and indexers built to accept the 5C collet standard.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tool room technicians. Before inserting or removing a collet, ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or in a safe-stop state. Clean the collet seat and the collet taper thoroughly before installation to prevent runout caused by debris. Do not overtighten the collet closer drawbar, as this can distort the collet and damage the workpiece or the spindle nose.
