The VALUE COLLECTION 222-760 is a taper drill chuck arbor designed to connect a Jacobs Taper 3 (JT3) drill chuck to a Number 4 Morse Taper (4MT) spindle. The arbor serves as the mechanical interface between the chuck and the machine spindle, transmitting torque and maintaining concentricity during drilling operations. It is a standard toolroom component used in drill presses, milling machines, and lathes equipped with a 4MT spindle bore. Machinists, tool and die workers, and maintenance technicians install this type of arbor when mounting or replacing drill chucks on compatible machine tools.
This arbor is suited for metalworking and general-purpose shop applications where a JT3 chuck must be seated onto a 4MT machine spindle. The Morse Taper shank seats directly into the spindle socket and is driven home with a drift or press. The JT3 mount accepts any chuck ground to the Jacobs Taper 3 specification. It is commonly used in drill press setups, manual milling operations, and lathe tailstock configurations in both production and job-shop environments.
Designed as a standard replacement or spare arbor for machine tools with a Number 4 Morse Taper spindle socket and drill chucks ground to the JT3 Jacobs Taper specification.
Power down and lock out the machine before installing or removing any chuck arbor. Clean both the 4MT spindle bore and the arbor shank thoroughly before seating to ensure full contact and proper holding force. Drive the arbor into the spindle with a soft mallet or arbor press rather than striking it with a steel hammer. To remove, use the appropriate drift through the spindle drift slot to avoid damage to the taper surfaces.
