The VALUE COLLECTION 220-0902 is a tailstock turret designed for use on manual lathes where multiple cutting or boring tools must be indexed quickly without removing and resetting individual tooling. The turret mounts to the lathe tailstock via a No. 3 Morse Taper (3MT) shank, seating securely in the tailstock quill. The head measures 2.5 inches in diameter and accommodates six tool positions, each with a 5/8-inch tool socket. This setup allows machinists to pre-load multiple tools and rotate through drilling, reaming, chamfering, or boring operations in a single setup, reducing cycle time and repositioning error.
This tailstock turret is suited for manual engine lathes and toolroom lathes in job shop, maintenance, and production environments. It is typically used in light to medium machining operations where sequential hole-making or turning operations benefit from rapid tool indexing. The 3MT shank fits a wide range of mid-size lathes commonly found in metalworking shops. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers and users of this accessory.
Designed for use on manual lathes equipped with a No. 3 Morse Taper tailstock quill and a tailstock bore that accepts standard MT3 tooling shanks.
Installation is performed by a machinist or qualified lathe operator. Before mounting, ensure the lathe is powered off and the spindle is locked or at rest. Clean the tailstock quill bore and the 3MT shank thoroughly to remove chips, oil, and grit before seating the taper, as contamination will cause misalignment. Secure the quill lock after seating the taper and verify tool socket set screws are tightened before initiating any cutting operation.
