The VALUE COLLECTION 214-8113 is a standard Morse taper reducing sleeve designed to adapt an MT1 inside taper to an MT3 outside taper. It allows machinists and toolroom technicians to mount MT1-shank tooling in spindles, tailstocks, or other machine tool sockets bored to MT3. The sleeve is hardened and ground throughout for dimensional accuracy and long service life under repeated tool changes. With an overall length of 175mm and a body diameter of 20mm, it provides a 0.25 inch projection at the small end. This type of adapter is a standard item in lathe, drill press, and milling machine setups wherever mixed-taper tooling is in regular use.
This reducing sleeve is suited for use in metal-cutting machine tools including lathes, drill presses, milling machines, and boring mills that have MT3-bored spindles or tailstock quills. It accepts any MT1-shank drill, reamer, center, or other cutting tool. The hardened and ground construction makes it appropriate for production and toolroom environments where runout and concentricity are critical to finished part quality.
Designed as a standard OEM-style reducing sleeve for machine tools with MT3-bored spindles or tailstock quills requiring MT1-shank tooling adaption.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine tool before inserting or removing any taper adapter. Ensure both the sleeve bore and the spindle socket are clean and free of chips or burrs before seating the taper, as contamination will cause runout. Use a proper drift bar through the spindle drift slot to eject the sleeve cleanly without damage to the taper surfaces.
