The VALUE COLLECTION 209016B is a hex head cap screw designed for general fastening applications where corrosion resistance is a priority. Manufactured from 18-8 stainless steel, this fastener offers solid resistance to rust and oxidation in wet, chemical-exposed, or outdoor environments. The screw measures 5/8-11 thread size with a 4-1/2 inch length under the head and follows the Unified National Coarse (UNC) thread standard. The 15/16 inch hex drive head accepts standard hex wrench and socket tooling. Plumbers, HVAC installers, and general mechanical contractors reach for 18-8 stainless fasteners when carbon steel is not suitable for the installation environment.
This cap screw is suited for light industrial, mechanical, and plumbing installations where stainless hardware is specified. The UNC thread form is the most common coarse thread standard in inch-measurement fastener applications. It is appropriate for use in equipment assemblies, structural brackets, pipe hangers, and utility panels where a full-strength, corrosion-resistant bolted connection is needed. Sold individually, this fastener works equally well as a direct replacement for a missing or damaged fastener or as part of a controlled hardware inventory for field service kits.
Designed as a standard inch-measurement hex head cap screw compatible with any 5/8-11 UNC tapped hole or hex nut application requiring an 18-8 stainless steel fastener.
Install and remove with a 15/16 inch hex socket or open-end wrench. Isolate or de-energize any adjacent electrical components before working in panels or enclosures. When installing stainless steel fasteners, apply an anti-seize compound to the threads to prevent galling, which is a common issue with stainless-to-stainless thread engagement. Follow applicable mechanical or plumbing codes for fastener torque requirements relevant to the specific joint being assembled.
