The VALUE COLLECTION 20810 is a mechanics-length, high-speed steel (HSS) drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in metal and ferrous materials. It features a 135-degree split point that self-centers on contact, reducing the need for a center punch and minimizing walking on hard surfaces. The oxide finish provides basic surface protection and reduces friction during drilling. At 0.1935 inches in diameter with a 3-5/8 inch overall length, this bit is sized for close-quarters and standard drill press applications. It is installed and used by machinists, maintenance technicians, plumbers, and HVAC professionals drilling through structural metal, panels, and pipe hangers.
This drill bit is suited for drilling carbon steel, cast iron, high alloy steel, high tensile strength alloy, stainless steel, and general steel stock. The mechanics length format — shorter than a jobber bit — provides added rigidity in tight spaces such as equipment enclosures, valve assemblies, and panel layouts. The right-hand spiral flute design ejects chips efficiently during standard rotary drilling operations. It is appropriate for both handheld drill and drill press use across residential and light commercial service work.
Designed as a general-purpose mechanics-length drill bit compatible with any standard keyless or keyed chuck accepting a straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for drilling carbon steel, cast iron, high alloy steel, high tensile strength alloy, stainless steel, and general steel workpieces.
Secure the bit firmly in the drill chuck before use and verify there is no runout. Power down and disconnect the drill or drill press before changing bits. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant when drilling stainless steel or high alloy materials to extend bit life and reduce heat buildup. Eye protection and secure workpiece fixturing are required during all drilling operations.
