The VALUE COLLECTION 204-2540 is an ER25 series collet designed for use in ER25-compatible tool holders and collet chucks. It accepts a 0.625 inch (5/8 inch) round shank and holds a total indicator runout (TIR) of 0.0005 inches, making it suitable for precision milling, drilling, and light machining operations. The ER collet style is one of the most widely used clamping systems in CNC and manual machining environments. This collet is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians wherever accurate tool holding and repeatable runout performance are required.
This ER25 collet fits standard ER25 collet chucks and tool holder bodies used on CNC machining centers, manual knee mills, and drill-tap machines. It is appropriate for production and job shop environments requiring a reliable, general-purpose collet in the ER25 range. The 5/8 inch bore accommodates common shank sizes for end mills, drills, reamers, and taps.
Designed for use with ER25-compatible collet chucks and tool holder bodies accepting a 0.625 inch bore collet.
ER collets are installed and removed by machinists using an appropriate ER25 collet nut and spanner wrench. Before changing collets, ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the collet fully into the collet nut before threading onto the holder to prevent damage to the collet taper. Inspect the collet bore and holder taper for chips or debris before each installation.
