The VALUE COLLECTION 204-2508 is an ER25 series ER collet designed for use in CNC machining centers, milling machines, and other rotating spindle equipment that accept the ER25 collet system. This collet holds workpieces or cutting tools with a clamping diameter of 0.125 inches (1/8 inch) and delivers a total indicator runout (TIR) of 0.0005 inches, supporting precise concentricity for demanding cutting, drilling, and engraving operations. It is a standard single-piece collet installed by machinists and toolroom technicians.
This collet is suited for light to medium-duty machining applications where a 1/8-inch shank tool or workpiece must be held securely in an ER25-compatible chuck or collet nut assembly. Typical applications include CNC routing, engraving, drilling, and milling operations in production and job-shop environments. The 0.0005-inch TIR rating makes it appropriate for finish work and operations where runout tolerance directly affects surface quality and tool life.
Designed as a replacement or supplemental collet for any spindle, chuck, or collet nut assembly built to the ER25 collet standard.
ER collets are installed and removed by machinists using the appropriate ER25 collet nut and spanner wrench — do not overtighten the collet nut, as this can distort the collet body and degrade runout performance. Always de-energize and lock out the machine spindle before changing collets. Inspect the collet bore and the chuck taper for chips or contamination before seating; debris will increase runout beyond rated TIR. Follow the machine tool manufacturer's torque guidelines for the collet nut.
