The VALUE COLLECTION 204-2008 is an ER20 series collet designed for use in CNC machining centers, milling machines, and manual machine tool spindles that accept ER20 toolholding systems. This collet grips cutting tools with a 0.125 inch (1/8 inch) shank diameter and holds a total indicator runout (TIR) of 0.0005 inches, supporting close-tolerance machining operations where tool concentricity directly affects surface finish and dimensional accuracy. It is installed by machinists and tool room technicians as a standard workholding or toolholding component. The collet weighs 0.12 pounds and ships as a single unit.
This collet is suited for light to medium-duty machining applications including drilling, reaming, end milling, and tapping with 1/8 inch shank tooling. The ER20 series is a widely adopted standard in both production and job-shop environments. It is compatible with any spindle or collet chuck that accepts the ER20 collet standard. Applications span CNC vertical machining centers, manual knee mills, and benchtop drilling and milling machines used in fabrication and toolroom settings.
Designed for use with any collet chuck, spindle, or toolholder conforming to the ER20 collet standard. Accepts cutting tools and workholding shanks measuring 0.125 inches (1/8 inch) in diameter.
ER collets are installed and removed by machinists using the appropriate ER20 collet nut and spanner wrench — do not use pipe wrenches or improvised tools, as this can damage the collet nut or spindle threads. Always de-energize and lock out the machine spindle before changing collets. Inspect the collet bore and the mating chuck taper for chips, burrs, or debris before seating; contamination is a primary cause of elevated runout. Discard collets that show visible cracks, deformation of the slotted fingers, or TIR exceeding specification.
