The VALUE COLLECTION 183-6254 is a single-end corner rounding end mill designed to produce consistent radius profiles on workpiece edges in milling applications. Built from M2 high speed steel with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it offers improved surface hardness and wear resistance compared to uncoated HSS tooling. The cutter measures 1.25 inches in diameter with a 3/8-inch corner radius and features 4 flutes in a right-hand cutting, right-hand flute configuration. At 0.5 pounds, it is a solid, well-balanced tool suited for use in manual mills and CNC machining centers alike. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and general machine shop personnel are the primary installers and operators of this tool.
This end mill is used in ferrous and non-ferrous metal machining where a uniform edge radius is required, such as on mold components, die parts, brackets, and structural weldments requiring deburring or radius blending. The 7/8-inch shank diameter accommodates standard collet chucks and end mill holders commonly found in vertical machining centers and knee mills. It is suited to both production environments and job-shop work where consistent corner geometry is critical to part quality.
Designed as a standard-shank corner rounding end mill compatible with milling machines and machining centers fitted with 7/8-inch collet chucks or end mill holders.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before seating or removing the tool from the holder. Ensure the shank is fully engaged in the collet or holder and that all set screws or collet nuts are properly torqued using the tool holder manufacturer's specifications. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or coating damage before each use, and confirm spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material before engaging the cut.
