The VALUE COLLECTION 170011 is a metric hex socket cap screw designed for precision fastening in mechanical assemblies, equipment fabrication, and industrial maintenance applications. The screw features an M4 x 0.70 thread profile with a 50 mm length under head and is partially threaded, making it suitable for through-hole and tapped-hole installations where a clean grip zone is required. Constructed from 18-8 austenitic stainless steel (Material Grade A2), the fastener delivers solid corrosion resistance and is appropriate for use in wet or humid environments. Drive engagement is via an internal hex socket, which allows high torque application in confined spaces.
This fastener is suited for use in light industrial machinery, equipment enclosures, instrumentation panels, and structural assemblies where a metric thread standard is specified. The DIN 912 fastener standard governs the dimensional tolerances and thread form. It is commonly installed by machinists, millwrights, equipment technicians, and maintenance trades working with metric-spec hardware. Partial threading provides a smooth shank section between the head and threaded portion, which is useful when the fastener must pass through unthreaded clearance holes before engaging a tapped receiver.
Designed as an OEM-style metric fastener compatible with tapped M4 x 0.70 threaded holes in equipment and assemblies specifying DIN 912 hex socket cap screws.
Installation requires an appropriately sized hex key or Allen driver sized for the M4 socket cap screw head. Ensure the receiving tapped hole is clean and free of debris before driving the fastener. Do not exceed the rated torque range for M4 stainless steel fasteners as specified by the equipment manufacturer or applicable standards, as overtorquing stainless hardware can cause galling or thread damage. Partial-thread screws should be seated so the threaded portion fully engages the tapped hole before final tightening.
