The VALUE COLLECTION 16727 is a Schedule 80 CPVC pipe bushing designed to reduce a 2-inch pipe connection down to a 3/4-inch line. The spigot-by-slip end configuration allows one end to insert into a socket fitting while the other accepts a slip-fit pipe or fitting. CPVC construction makes this bushing suitable for hot and cold water systems, as well as select chemical and industrial fluid applications where standard PVC lacks sufficient temperature resistance. Plumbers and pipefitters install this type of reducer bushing during new construction and retrofit work when pipe sizes must be transitioned within a run.
This bushing is used in residential and light commercial plumbing systems where CPVC Schedule 80 pipe is specified. Typical applications include domestic hot water distribution, industrial process piping, and chemical handling lines where higher pressure ratings and elevated temperature tolerances are required compared to Schedule 40 fittings. The spigot-by-slip connection style is a standard configuration in solvent-weld CPVC systems.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 CPVC solvent-weld piping systems using 2-inch by 3/4-inch reducer bushing connections.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters following applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the water or fluid supply before cutting into any existing line. Use only CPVC-rated solvent cement and primer as specified by the pipe and fitting manufacturer — do not substitute PVC cement. Allow full cure time before restoring system pressure.
