The VALUE COLLECTION 14442960051600S is a straight-flute chucking reamer designed to finish-ream drilled or bored holes to a precise 5/16-inch (0.3125 inch) diameter. Constructed from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, this reamer delivers consistent sizing and smooth surface finishes in a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks or collet holders. With a 6-inch overall length and a 1.5-inch flute length, it is suited for bench-drill, drill-press, and CNC drilling operations where hole tolerance and finish quality are critical.
This chucking reamer is used in machine shops, maintenance facilities, and production environments wherever finish-reaming of 5/16-inch holes is required. Typical applications include reaming clearance and bearing-fit holes in metal fixtures, mechanical assemblies, and tooling components. The right-hand spiral flute geometry promotes chip evacuation and reduces chatter during the reaming pass. It is installed and operated by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and maintenance technicians working on manual or CNC machine tools.
Designed as a general-purpose chucking reamer for use in standard drill chucks and collet holders on drill presses, lathes, and CNC machining centers capable of accepting a straight-cylindrical shank tool.
Chucking reamers are installed and operated by machinists or qualified maintenance technicians. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a drill chuck or collet before operation, and verify runout is within acceptable limits to avoid oversize or tapered holes. Always pre-drill the hole undersize before reaming, leaving only a small amount of stock for the reamer to remove. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material and never run a reamer in reverse, as reverse rotation will damage the cutting edges.
