The VALUE COLLECTION 14442960031600S is a high-speed steel (HSS) chucking reamer designed to produce accurate, smooth-bore holes in metalworking applications. With a 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch decimal) cutting diameter and a 4-1/2 inch overall length, this reamer delivers consistent sizing and finish in through-holes and blind holes alike. The spiral flute geometry with a right-hand cut promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces chatter during operation. The bright, uncoated finish is standard for general-purpose HSS tooling. Machinists and tool-and-die technicians install this reamer in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes to bring pre-drilled holes to final dimensional tolerance.
This chucking reamer is suited for finishing operations on ferrous and non-ferrous metals in production and job-shop environments. The straight-cylindrical shank is compatible with standard collet chucks, drill chucks, and floating reamer holders commonly used in both manual and CNC setups. The 1-1/8 inch flute length provides adequate cutting engagement for typical through-hole and shallow blind-hole reaming tasks at this diameter. It is appropriate for residential shop, industrial production, and maintenance-repair-operations (MRO) work where close-tolerance hole finishing is required.
Designed as a general-purpose chucking reamer for use in standard drill chucks, collet chucks, and floating reamer holders that accept a straight-cylindrical shank at this diameter class.
Installation and use of chucking reamers is performed by qualified machinists or tool-and-die technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the workpiece is securely fixtured before installing or removing the tool. Pre-drill or bore the hole to an appropriate undersize before reaming to final dimension, as reaming is a finishing operation and is not intended to remove large amounts of material. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve surface finish.
