The VALUE COLLECTION 13380 is a 1/4 inch countersunk hex plug designed to seal threaded pipe openings in low- and medium-pressure piping systems. Manufactured from malleable iron with a black finish, this Class 150 fitting carries a liquid and gas pressure rating of 300 psi. The countersunk hex drive allows installation with a hex key in confined spaces where a standard wrench cannot seat properly. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians install this type of plug as a permanent or semi-permanent pipe seal in gas, air, water, and hydraulic lines.
This plug is suited for residential and light commercial piping applications where a threaded pipe end requires capping or blanking. Typical scenarios include sealing unused branch outlets on gas manifolds, capping test ports on compressed air lines, and closing off tapped openings on hydronic heating systems. The malleable iron construction handles the thermal cycling and vibration common in mechanical room installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-use fitting for Class 150 malleable iron threaded piping systems accepting 1/4 inch NPT plugs.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC or IFGC requirements. Depressurize and isolate the pipe section before installing or removing any threaded plug. Use an appropriately sized hex key and apply thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for the service fluid. Do not overtighten malleable iron fittings, as the material can crack under excessive torque.
