The VALUE COLLECTION -13356-2D is a malleable iron pipe bushing designed to reduce a 1-inch female pipe thread to a 1/4-inch male pipe thread. This fitting is rated for 300 psi on liquid and gas service and 150 psi on steam service, placing it in the Class 150 fitting category. Malleable iron construction provides the toughness needed for threaded pipe systems in mechanical, plumbing, and industrial applications. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians install this bushing wherever a concentric pipe size reduction is required in a threaded iron pipe assembly.
This bushing suits residential and light commercial installations involving iron pipe systems for natural gas, compressed air, water, and low-pressure steam distribution. The hex-head design allows installation and removal with standard pipe wrenches or hex wrenches. It is sold in a package quantity of 5, making it a practical choice for contractors stocking common reducing fittings on the truck or in the shop.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard addition to Class 150 malleable iron threaded pipe systems using NPT connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, pipefitter, or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local codes and IFGC or IPC requirements. Shut off and depressurize the pipe system fully before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate pipe thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for the service medium before threading the bushing into the female fitting. Do not overtighten, as malleable iron threads can crack under excessive torque.
