The VALUE COLLECTION -13269-1G is a black-finish malleable iron 90 degree reducing elbow designed for threaded pipe assemblies in gas and liquid distribution systems. Rated at 300 psi and manufactured to Class 150 standards, this fitting transitions from a 3/8-inch female thread on one end to a 1/4-inch female thread on the other, making a right-angle directional change while stepping down pipe size in a single fitting. Plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians use reducing elbows like this to consolidate fittings and reduce joint count in tight spaces. The malleable iron construction provides the ductility needed to withstand mechanical stress and vibration in working piping systems.
This fitting is suited for residential and light commercial applications involving low-pressure gas lines, compressed air, water, and compatible fluid systems. The black finish is standard for gas service piping. The 3/8-inch by 1/4-inch size is commonly encountered in branch line connections, appliance supply runs, and instrumentation piping where a direction change and a size reduction are needed at the same location. A licensed plumber or pipefitter should handle installation wherever local code or the applicable gas or plumbing code requires it.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for standard NPT threaded pipe systems carrying gas, air, or compatible liquids at pressures up to 300 psi.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with the International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC) or International Plumbing Code (IPC) as applicable. Shut off and depressurize the line before disassembling any existing fittings. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for the intended service to the male threads before assembly. Pressure-test the completed assembly per local code requirements before returning the system to service.
