The VALUE COLLECTION 13073 is a Class 150 malleable iron reducing coupling designed for threaded pipe connections where a 3/4-inch line transitions to a 1/2-inch line. Built from malleable iron with a galvanized finish, this fitting handles liquid and gas service up to 300 psi and steam service up to 150 psi. It is a standard threaded fitting used in plumbing, HVAC piping, gas distribution, and light industrial piping systems. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians install this type of fitting during new construction, system expansion, and repair work on threaded iron pipe assemblies.
This reducing coupling is suited for residential and light commercial piping applications where a pipe size reduction is required inline. Typical uses include natural gas supply lines, compressed air distribution, water supply piping, and hydronic heating loops. The galvanized finish provides corrosion resistance appropriate for exposed or mildly corrosive environments. The fitting conforms to Class 150 malleable iron standards, making it compatible with standard NPT threaded pipe systems in both above-ground and code-permitted below-ground installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use fitting for Class 150 NPT threaded malleable iron pipe systems in plumbing, gas, and HVAC piping applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing and mechanical codes. Shut off and depressurize the pipe system completely before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads before assembly, and tighten to a snug fit using pipe wrenches without over-torquing the malleable iron body. For gas service installations, verify all joints with an approved leak-detection method before returning the system to service.
