The VALUE COLLECTION 1230-4225 is a 5C round collet machined from steel, designed for use in lathes, collet chucks, and spin fixtures equipped with a 5C spindle interface. The collet accepts a 14.00 mm round workpiece and holds it with a total indicated runout (TIR) of 0.015 mm, making it suitable for precision turning, grinding, and secondary operations. The internal thread measures 1.041 inches at 24 threads per inch, and the external thread measures 1.242 inches at 20 threads per inch. Machinists and tool-room technicians are the typical installers.
This collet is used in production and job-shop environments wherever a 5C-compatible spindle is present. Common applications include CNC and manual lathes, rotary indexers, and collet blocks used on milling machines. It is suited for holding round bar stock, turned blanks, or finished parts during secondary operations where concentricity and repeatability matter. The 14.00 mm bore size targets metric workpiece diameters common in precision machining work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use collet for any machine tool or workholding fixture built to the standard 5C collet interface specification.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tool-room personnel. Before inserting or removing the collet, ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out per applicable shop safety procedures. Inspect the collet taper and spindle bore for chips or debris before seating the collet. Do not force the collet into the closer; proper seating requires clean mating surfaces and correct thread engagement.
