The VALUE COLLECTION 122597 is a metric hex lock nut with a nylon insert, designed for M20x2.5 threaded applications where vibration resistance is required. Manufactured from 18-8 / A2 stainless steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this nut provides corrosion resistance suited to wet, outdoor, or chemically exposed environments. The nylon insert compresses against the thread flanks when driven, creating prevailing torque that resists loosening under dynamic loads. With a 30 mm width across flats and a 20 mm height, it meets DIN 985 dimensional standards. Licensed trades and industrial maintenance technicians install this fastener in mechanical assemblies, structural connections, and equipment mounts where a positive thread lock is required.
This hex lock nut is used in residential and commercial mechanical installations, as well as industrial equipment and infrastructure applications requiring M20 metric threading. Right-hand thread direction makes it compatible with standard metric fastener tooling. The DIN 985 standard governs its dimensional tolerances, making it an interchangeable replacement in assemblies specified to that standard. Typical install scenarios include HVAC equipment frames, pump and motor mounts, pipe supports, and structural steel connections where stainless steel fasteners are specified for corrosion performance.
Designed for use with M20x2.5 right-hand threaded fasteners and bolts conforming to standard metric thread profiles. Dimensionally compliant with DIN 985 specifications.
Installation is performed by mechanical or maintenance trades using a standard metric wrench sized to 30 mm across flats. Ensure mating bolt threads are clean and free of debris before driving the nut to avoid damaging the nylon insert. The nylon insert is single-use — once the nut has been fully driven and removed, it should not be reused, as the insert loses prevailing-torque effectiveness. De-energize or depressurize any system before working on fastened assemblies.
