The VALUE COLLECTION 112369706 is a solid carbide turning insert conforming to ANSI insert code TPG322 and ISO insert code TPG160308. It is a triangular-profile insert with a 60-degree included angle, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/32-inch corner radius. The insert carries manufacturer grade I55 and material grade C5, indicating suitability for general-purpose ferrous machining. With an 11-degree relief angle and positive side clearance, it provides clean chip evacuation on external turning operations. Machinists and CNC lathe operators install this insert into compatible TPG-style toolholders for precision diameter and shoulder turning work.
This insert is suited for external turning operations on lathes in both production and job-shop environments. The flat-top chip breaker geometry and positive clearance angle make it appropriate for medium to finish turning passes on primary workpiece material code P steels. It is held in the toolholder via a clamp-style holding method, which is standard for TPG geometry inserts. The insert measures 16.5 mm in length and 1/8 inch in thickness, fitting standard TPG322-compatible toolholders used in light to moderate-duty turning applications.
Designed for use in TPG-style clamp-type toolholders accepting ANSI size code 322 inserts. ISO equivalent code is TPG160308 (Iso code TPGN160308), allowing cross-reference to metric toolholder specifications.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and lock out the lathe before seating or replacing inserts. Ensure the toolholder pocket and clamp are clean and free of chips before installing the insert to maintain proper seating and cutting geometry. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque guidance for the clamp screw; do not overtighten, as carbide inserts are brittle and can crack under uneven clamping force.
