The VALUE COLLECTION 112183641 is a solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Manufactured to ANSI insert code TCMT32.51 and ISO insert code TCMT16T304, this triangular insert features a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiN, Al2O3, and TiCN for improved wear resistance and thermal stability during continuous and interrupted cuts. The inscribed circle measures 3/8 inch (0.3750 inch) with an insert thickness of 5/32 inch (0.1560 inch) and a corner radius of 1/64 inch (0.0157 inch). Manufacturer grade IG125T targets steel and ferrous alloy turning applications where consistent edge life and surface finish are the primary requirements.
This insert is suited for finishing and light roughing operations on steel workpieces, consistent with primary workpiece material code P (ISO classification for steel). The TCMT insert style uses a screw-holding method with positive side clearance and a 7-degree relief angle, making it appropriate for moderate-depth passes on external turning, facing, and light profiling operations. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, production facilities, and aerospace or general manufacturing environments commonly use this insert grade and geometry. The chip breaker designation T supports controlled chip formation during steel turning at moderate feed rates.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for TCMT-style screw-clamp toolholders accepting ANSI insert code TCMT32.51 or ISO insert code TCMT16T304. Verify toolholder pocket geometry and clamping screw compatibility before installation.
TCMT turning inserts are installed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine before indexing or replacing an insert. Use the correct torque wrench or screwdriver specified by the toolholder manufacturer when tightening the clamping screw — over-torquing can fracture the carbide substrate. Inspect the toolholder pocket for debris or wear before seating a new insert to ensure proper support and prevent premature edge failure.
