The VALUE COLLECTION 112058136 is a solid carbide turning insert with a TiC and TiN coating applied via CVD process. Designed for use in external and internal turning operations, this insert features an SPU style with a 90-degree square shape and a 0.5 inch inscribed circle. The manufacturer grade is TCN55, suited for general-purpose cutting in steel and stainless steel applications. With a 1/32 inch (0.0315 inch) corner radius and positive side clearance, it delivers controlled cutting action in a range of machining environments. The insert is held in place using a clamp-style toolholder. This part is installed and managed by machinists and CNC lathe operators working in production or job-shop settings.
This turning insert is intended for use in lathe and turning center applications where a square insert geometry is required. The TCN55 grade with TiC and TiN multilayer CVD coating makes it appropriate for machining ISO material groups P (carbon and alloy steels) and M (stainless steels). Typical applications include facing, profiling, and light roughing passes on ferrous workpieces. The 90-degree included angle provides a strong cutting edge suitable for moderate feed and depth-of-cut conditions in both manual and CNC turning setups.
Designed for use in clamp-style toolholders accepting SPU-style square turning inserts. ANSI insert code SPU422 and ISO insert code SPU120308 (ISO code SPMN120308) identify compatible toolholder pockets. Material grade classification C5, C6, and C7 indicates fitment for machining ISO P and M workpiece material groups.
Installation and indexing of turning inserts should be performed by qualified machinists with the machine powered down and the spindle locked. Use the correct clamp and toolholder designed for the SPU422 insert seat to ensure proper seating and clamping force. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or damage before seating a new insert. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque specifications for the clamping screw and verify edge engagement before resuming cutting operations.
