The VALUE COLLECTION 1057316 is a taper length drill bit designed for general-purpose metal drilling applications. Ground from HSS-E Cobalt M35 tool steel, it delivers improved heat and wear resistance compared to standard high-speed steel. The bit measures 0.6562 inches (21/32 inch) in diameter with an overall length of 9 inches and a flute length of 5.875 inches, making it well suited for deeper hole applications where a jobber-length bit falls short. The 118-degree point angle is a standard geometry that works across a wide range of workpiece materials. The bright, uncoated finish indicates no additional surface treatment, keeping the tool at its ground dimensions.
This taper length drill bit is used in metalworking shops, maintenance and repair operations, and fabrication environments where holes deeper than a jobber-length bit can reach are required. The cobalt M35 grade makes it a practical choice for drilling mild steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other ferrous materials that generate significant cutting heat. Machinists, tool and die makers, and industrial maintenance technicians are the typical installers. It is used in drill presses, milling machines, and hand-held magnetic drills with a matching chuck capacity.
Designed as a general-purpose taper length drill bit compatible with drill presses, milling machines, and magnetic drills equipped with a chuck capable of accepting a 0.6562-inch round shank.
A licensed machinist or qualified maintenance technician should select appropriate cutting speed and feed rate for the workpiece material before drilling. Secure the workpiece firmly before operation and ensure the chuck is fully tightened on the shank to prevent slippage. Use appropriate cutting fluid for ferrous materials to extend tool life and improve hole finish. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use.
