The VALUE COLLECTION 103256 is a solid carbide turning insert in the TPG style, designed for precision single-point turning operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. It carries the ANSI insert code TPG222 and ISO insert code TPG110308. The insert features a 60-degree triangular shape with a positive side clearance and a flat top chip breaker geometry. Material grade is C5/C6 uncoated carbide, suitable for machining ferrous workpiece materials. The inscribed circle measures 1/4 inch (0.250 inches), insert thickness is 1/8 inch (0.125 inches), and the corner radius is 1/32 inch (0.0313 inches). Installation uses a clamp-style holding method.
This insert is intended for general turning applications on ferrous and steel workpiece materials, consistent with the P-grade material designation. It is well suited for external and internal turning passes where a positive relief angle and flat top geometry help manage chip flow at light to moderate depths of cut. Machinists, CNC operators, and tool room technicians working in job shops or production environments will find this insert appropriate for finishing and semi-finishing passes on steel and similar P-grade materials. The bright, uncoated finish makes tool wear easy to inspect visually during operation.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard consumable for TPG-style turning toolholders that accept TPG222 inserts with a clamp-style holding method and positive clearance geometry.
TPG turning inserts are installed and indexed by qualified machinists or CNC operators following standard toolholder torque and clamping procedures specified by the toolholder manufacturer. Power down the machine and lock out the spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Inspect the toolholder seat and clamp for damage before seating a new insert. Follow shop-specific tool change and handling procedures to avoid chipping the cutting edge during installation.
