The VALUE COLLECTION 10309-MSC is a silicon carbide sanding sheet rated at 180 grit for very fine material removal and surface finishing. Silicon carbide abrasive cuts faster and harder than aluminum oxide on smooth, hard surfaces, making this sheet well-suited for finishing metal, plastics, ceramics, and hardwoods. The sheet uses a C-weight paper backing, which provides a balance of flexibility and stiffness for both hand sanding and machine use. It is rated for wet or dry use, allowing the operator to sand with water or cutting fluid to reduce loading and improve surface finish quality.
This sanding sheet is used in fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and finishing operations where a very fine surface profile is required before final finishing or coating. The wet-or-dry capability makes it applicable to automotive bodywork, metal fabrication, woodworking, and general industrial surface prep. It is intended for use by machinists, fabricators, metalworkers, and skilled tradespeople who require consistent grit and cut performance across multiple passes.
Designed as a general-purpose sanding sheet for hand sanding blocks and standard sheet-fed finishing machines that accept flat abrasive sheets.
Secure the sheet firmly to the sanding block or machine platen before use to prevent slipping. When using wet, ensure any power sanding equipment is rated for wet operation before introducing water or fluid. Inspect the sheet before each use and replace when abrasive loading or wear reduces cutting performance. Dispose of used sheets in accordance with local regulations when sanding materials that produce hazardous dust.
