The VALUE COLLECTION 101331PR is a cup point set screw used to secure components onto shafts, collars, and similar assemblies without a protruding head. It is manufactured from Grade 8 alloy steel, providing high tensile strength suitable for demanding mechanical applications. The screw features a 1/4-20 UNC thread and measures 1-3/4 inches in overall length. Drive engagement is through a 1/8 inch internal hex (Allen) socket. It is manufactured to ASME/ANSI B18.3 and ASTM F912 standards. Machinists, millwrights, and maintenance technicians are the primary installers.
This set screw is suited for use in mechanical assemblies where a flush or recessed fastener is required to lock rotating or sliding components in position on a shaft. Typical applications include shaft collars, couplings, pulleys, and gears in both light industrial and general mechanical maintenance environments. The cup point bites into the shaft surface to resist rotational and axial movement under load.
Designed as a standard headless cup point set screw for any assembly with a 1/4-20 UNC tapped bore requiring a Grade 8 alloy steel fastener.
Installation requires a 1/8 inch hex key or Allen driver. Ensure the receiving bore is clean and correctly tapped to 1/4-20 UNC before driving the screw. Degrease the shaft contact area to allow the cup point to seat properly against the shaft surface. Follow applicable mechanical assembly standards and power down or de-energize any equipment before servicing fasteners on rotating components.
