The VALUE COLLECTION 07146 is a 3/4-10 UNC general-purpose threaded rod manufactured from Grade B7 alloy steel with a yellow zinc finish. At 72 inches in length and weighing 7.428 pounds, this rod is designed for high-strength fastening applications where standard carbon steel rods would fall short. The right-hand thread pattern runs the full length of the rod, allowing nuts and couplers to be threaded on from either end. Licensed trades professionals — including pipefitters, millwrights, electricians, and structural mechanics — reach for Grade B7 alloy steel when elevated tensile strength and moderate corrosion resistance are both required.
This threaded rod is suited for general industrial and commercial construction fastening, including pipe hanger assemblies, HVAC equipment supports, structural connections, and machinery mounting. The yellow zinc coating provides a baseline level of corrosion resistance suitable for indoor and semi-protected environments. UNC thread form ensures broad compatibility with standard nuts, couplers, and rod hangers stocked at most trade supply houses.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or new-install threaded rod compatible with standard 3/4-10 UNC nuts, couplers, rod hangers, and pipe strut fittings used in commercial and industrial fastening applications.
Threaded rod cutting should be performed with a reciprocating saw, hacksaw, or abrasive cutoff tool rated for alloy steel; a thread-restoring die or file should be used on cut ends before assembly. Torque all nuts to values specified by the applicable engineering or code authority for the connection type and load condition. For pipe hanger and HVAC support applications, consult applicable sections of MSS SP-58 and local mechanical codes for rod sizing and spacing requirements. Always de-energize and isolate any electrical or mechanical equipment before installing or adjusting overhead rod supports.
