The VALUE COLLECTION 0604FSR is a 6-32 UNC thread cutting screw designed for fastening into pre-drilled or punched holes in metal, plastics, and similar materials. It features a round head with a No. 2 slotted/phillips combination drive, allowing installation with either a flat-blade or Phillips screwdriver. The Type F point has longitudinal cutting edges that form mating threads on the first pass, eliminating the need for a tapped hole. Manufactured from 1016-1024 steel with a zinc-plated finish, this screw meets AISI 1016, ASME B18.6.3, ASME B18.6.4, and SAE J933 standards. It is sold individually per package with a minimum order quantity of 100 pieces.
This screw is suited for light-gauge sheet metal, electrical enclosures, HVAC equipment panels, junction boxes, and similar assemblies where a self-threading fastener is required. The combination drive is practical in field-service environments where only a flat-blade screwdriver is available. The zinc plating provides basic corrosion resistance for indoor and sheltered applications. Installers in electrical, HVAC, and general mechanical trades commonly use this size for securing cover plates, brackets, and internal components.
Designed as a standard 6-32 UNC thread cutting fastener suitable for light-gauge metal panels, electrical enclosures, and equipment covers where a Type F thread cutting screw of this size is specified.
Installation requires a properly sized pre-drilled or punched pilot hole to allow the Type F point to cut clean threads without splitting the base material. Use a No. 2 Phillips or flat-blade screwdriver or matching bit; avoid over-torquing, which can strip the formed threads in thin material. Power down any electrical enclosure or equipment fully before driving fasteners into live panels. Follow applicable NEC or equipment manufacturer guidelines when fastening within electrical assemblies.
