The VALUE COLLECTION 06-0240 is a 240 grit silicon carbide sanding sheet intended for dry, fine-finish abrasive work. Silicon carbide abrasive cuts faster and harder than aluminum oxide on the same grit rating, making it well suited for sanding harder materials and producing smooth surface finishes. The sheet uses a B-weight paper backing, which balances flexibility and tear resistance for hand sanding and orbital finishing applications. At a very fine grade, this sheet is typically used in final-stage stock removal or surface prep before coating or inspection.
This sanding sheet is used in finishing operations across metal fabrication, woodworking, and light industrial applications. Very fine 240 grit is appropriate for scuff sanding between coats, smoothing filler, or final surface prep on hard substrates. The paper backing and dry-only construction make it compatible with standard hand sanding blocks and sheet-fed orbital sanders. It is not rated for wet use.
Designed as a standard sanding sheet for use with hand sanding blocks and orbital sheet sanders that accept standard abrasive sheet sizes in dry finishing applications.
Sanding sheets are installed and replaced by machinists, fabricators, woodworkers, and finishing technicians. Ensure the sander is powered off and unplugged before changing abrasive sheets. Inspect the backing pad for wear before mounting a new sheet, as a damaged pad can cause uneven cutting or premature sheet failure. Do not use this dry-rated sheet with water or cutting fluids.
